ISME is proud to support ISME-Asia as part of its core regional funding program. In addition to this support for the ISME-Asia meeting, ISME also funds the Early Career Researcher (ECR) and Ambassador travel grants as separate initiatives, aimed at fostering global microbial ecology engagement and development.

ECR travel grants

To encourage participation from early-career researcher (ECR), ISME will fund ECR travel grants. ECR travel grants will be awarded to graduate students (MSc/PhD) and postdoctoral fellows who are current ISME members. The applicant must also be the first and presenting author of an abstract submitted to the regional meeting.

Ambassador travel grants

The ISME Office has secured funds to support ambassador engagement in Joint Conference of the 1st ISME Asia Forum and the 2025 Annual Academic Meeting of the Chinese Association for Microbial Ecology. This grant is designed to assist active ambassadors for whom travel support would make a tangible difference in their ability to participate and to strengthen ISME’s global community-building mission.
